50 Sharks - 2 // 3 // 4
It’s been a while since I last posted on the blog! I do have some more advice based blog posts planned for the next few weeks, specifically one talking about reasons why it’s important that you get paid for your work. For now though, I thought I’d share the most recent sharks I’ve completed for the 50 sharks personal project that I’ve been working on.
Rather than including sketches and process shots like I usually do I’m going to include the video for the first two because I’m trying to also make a process video with commentary for each one for my Youtube channel. However, the video for the last of the sharks in this blog post hasn’t been edited yet so I’ll included process images for that!
#2 - The Zombie Shark
It’s obvious that my two main loves when it comes to drawing is sharks and zombies, so I knew that I had to design a zombie shark. To be honest I kind of wish I’d waited to do this one because I think I could’ve done a much more creative job with it, but I’m still happy with how it turned out. Maybe I’ll revisit it at some point?
#3 - The Skeleton Shark
I kind of never intended this one to turn out the way that it did, but I do plan to do more of these in different environments seeing as it makes no sense for a shark skeleton to be dug up out of a forest! I’m going to include the sketches I started with for this one too because I really like how they turned out!
#4 - The Iceberg Shark
I did originally want to just call this one ‘The Ice Shark’ however, I’m thinking that maybe I could design an actual ice shark at some point in this project so I’m saving that name for later! Although this is quite a simple design and not really up to my usual creativity, I really just wanted to play around with ice and creating my own spin on it, so I’m pretty happy with how that all turned out. Video for this one coming next week!
I’m also running polls on my Instagram and Twitter every time I start a new shark so feel free to follow me @aldersaur if you want to vote for yourself! I’m pretty excited to be starting the next one, the Junker Shark!
