Some more illustrations from this years Inktober!
It's absolutely crazy how fast another year has gone, Inktober is over once again so I thought I'd share some of the pieces I did that are for my personal project I've been posting about on the blog, these ones didn't really have a place in the posts I wrote at the time.
First up is some more environment art for the world. If you missed the first post, in this world earth is now shattered into many pieces, so there is still a planet earth but with lots of land floating around it, some really close to earth and some much further away and much darker.
So as far as homes/shelters go, some homes are built from left over materials, even skeletons if they fit the purpose and some are adapted from broken houses that were wrecked when the earth shattered. You can see examples of these types of homes from the Inktobers I did below...
Another idea that I've got for the world is that now that the earth is shattered, the sea doesn't just exist on earth anymore and water from the sea is now everywhere on all the pieces of land so sea creatures have now evolved to live out of water and in this new world. I wanted to develop some villains and thought that sharks would work really well and I imagined them being in a kind of biker style gang with some kind of symbol or tattoo to link them altogether. So I started out developing some ideas for different styles of sharks...
Then I started to develop some ideas for a full bodied version of one of the characters...
I really like this guy and I'm definitely looking forward to developing more characters for this gang! I also like the idea of having some creatures that use the lower gravitational pull to float between lands rather than actually live on them. So I thought that squids would work really well and almost look like big alien spaceships!
Looking forward to Inktober 2017!
